This is a better more graphical tutorial of how to get internet on Ubuntu through your Droid Phone.
What if no internet connection is available and you need to browse the web, install updates or packages for Ubuntu? What if I have a Droid? Can I somehow connect this portable technological marvel to my linuxbox to get the internet? The answer is you definitely can!
Goto the app store on your phone and download an app called Easytether.
Follow the instructions on the easytether app to download the package for Ubuntu. Press the menu button and go to the wizard. Click Download Click Ubuntu 10.4+:i386 or amd64 if your running Ubuntu in 64-bit Go in to manage memory card mode Plug it in to the computer Open the file Install the file then go in to pc tools mode. NOT MANAGE MEMORY CARD MODE as shown in the picture below. Go back into easytether and enable USB Goto the Wizard again Hit Finish and open a terminal
Type:
easytether connect
Open a new tab. Press [ctrl]+[shift]+[T] or File>Open Tab Type in you password and minimize your terminal.
Open Firefox and click File>Work Offline
Now your connected!
