Problems with qt while installing k3b on Red Hat 9
Hi, can anyone help me?..
I tried to install k3b on my Red Hat 9, i686. I failed with the rpm, so I got the source k3b-0.11.11.tar.bz2.
At first, ./configure went OK, but when I tried to make, an error accrued, something with the length of... ? some string, connected with the file
qstring.h
from the qt library.
So I got the source
qt-x11-free-3.3.2.tar
,installed it and it went OK. But when I tried to install k3b again with the new library, but when I did ./configure, I got the message
checking for Qt... libraries /usr/local/qt/lib, headers /usr/local/qt/include using -mt
checking for moc... /usr/local/qt/bin/moc
checking for uic... /usr/local/qt/bin/uic
checking whether uic supports -L ... yes
checking whether uic supports -nounload ... yes
checking if Qt needs -ljpeg... no
checking for rpath... yes
checking for KDE... libraries /usr/lib, headers /usr/include/kde
checking if UIC has KDE plugins available... no
configure: error: you need to install kdelibs first.
. I went through the ./configure --help of the qt, but nowhere I found anything about kdeplugins...
Now, even when I try to compile k3b with the old qt, I get the same message.
Does anyone know where I went wrong and what I should do?.

It seams to me the kdelibs are there. I am not good at administrating linux - obviously - but I have done nothing that should remove or damage it... I think.
And, I don't know what they should look like (what files and where), but I have an other machine on RH9, where I have not tried to install new qt, and I compared the results of
find / -name "*kdelibs*"
and they are the same on both machines.
And, there's the list, if someone knows if it's allright.

I would snag another copy of a kdelibs RPM or tarball and install it, just to be safe.
