I have a Canon PIXMA MP160 printer/copier/scanner.

The first 2 functions work properly, but the 3rd doesn't.

I downloaded and installed 2 RPMs from Canon. They're supposed to create both a GIMP plugin and a standalone scanning application, but I couldn't get either to work.

I looked afterwards in the output of dmesg and found the following:

usb 2-1: usbfs: interface 1 claimed while 'scangearmp' sets config #1

Can someone please tell me in simple language what that output means?
