I was looking for linux/open source application for investigative purposes. Havent found one yet. I'm looking for something like analyst's notebook or iBase. Any pointers?
I'm getting the creepy feeling that there are no such tools for linux... yet...

What you're talking about is a highly specialized application, and I doubt (though I don't know for sure) this available in GNU/Linux land. I would suggest:
- Contacting the maintainers of the software and express interest in a Linux version. (Maybe they can help you in the short-term, or at least log your request for the long-term.)
- Running this software within an emulated/virtualized Windows environment for now.
