Screen problem NEED HELP
I have Linux redhat 9.0 installed on my NEC Versa SX and I can't
seam to get the screen to get bigger it won't go it says "Display
Settings changed You need to log out and restart the X server for
the Changes to take effect." I can't figure out with the X server is.
Can you please help me.
NEC Versa SX
128 Mb ram
4.0 Gb Hard Drive
Trident Cyber 9388 video chip (2Mb video ram)
ESS Maestro 2E (ESS197
sound card
14.1" TFT XGA display (1600x1200 maxamum Resolution)
Pentium II 333Mz Processer
Please help me.

X server is simply the back end for graphical interfaces in Linux, if you rebooted your computer you will have restarted X-serve most likely. To further understand xserver just rember that it is a program, many linux distros open in command line and you login via text, then later you type
to open kde/gnomeCode:startx
