Linpopup configuration
I've been trying to setup linpopup for a while - the most recent problem has come up is that I can't send messages. Below is the error message I've been getting:
added interface ip=192.168.2.138 bcast=192.168.2.255
nmask=255.255.255.0
Cannot resolve name [nameremoved]#0x3
I think that I need to add my adapter in SWAT, but I'm not sure how. I'd really appreciate any help you can give me.
Respectfully,
Jacob Maurer
(As a side note, a couple friends have recommended that the name of every person I wish to contact be in my hosts file. While this may work [I have yet to try it], there are a LOT of people in our network. Is this really necessary?)

The hosts file might be the thing, but instead of modifying your hosts file, add winbind to your /etc/nsswitch.conf. See the docs on samba.org for details on how to do that; I haven't done it myself.
