i have acrobat reader 5.0.8 installed in my system.i've downloaded version 5.0.9 and i want to install it after removing the previous.how can i do that?

what did you use to install, rpm? or the source? if you installed from rpm it will look something like this
(use the tab completion to find filename if from source, just cd to the directory installed in andCode:rpm -e acrobatreader
if it came on your suse distrobution, then look in yast or whatever suse's native package managment system is and use that to remove it (should be very simple, like unchecking a box and clicking 'ok')Code:make uninstall

ok i haven't checked this out!i used to use konsole for unistalling programs.i installed acrobat reader i think in rpm format (came with the installation cd's i don't think it's gz or something like that).
i'll do it with yast2 ,thanks!Linux For Ever!
