    Pls does anyone know a software like ares for downloading songs,music and stuff for linux.

    try a p2p gnutella client such as gtk-gnutella:
    gtk-gnutella - The Graphical Unix Gnutella Client

    or get bit torrents and download them with something like ktorrent:

    Frostwire is a java based p2p app that is probably in your repo.
    It's easy to use and is a Limewire clone... but with all the turbo charged features of Limewire Pro. It uses the gnutella network.

    For torrents you can beat uTorrent running under wine.
