LICQ connection to server problem

I have installed LICQ ver. 1.2.7 under my RedHat Linux 9 but it doesn't want to connect by some reason. The connection log is following:

18:25:02: [SRV] Resolving login.icq.com port 5190...
18:25:02: [SRV] ICQ server found at 64.12.200.89:5190.
18:25:02: [SRV] Opening socket to server.
18:28:11: [SRV] Connecting to login server failed, failing event

It makes a big pause on the 'Opening socket to server' step and after 3 minutes it fails. I also use the ICQ on Windows 2000 with the same connection parameters (login.icq.com:5190) and it works fine. Does anybody know the reason of this error?

dont quote me as this is jsut shooting, but look around and see if linux uses a different port than windows to connect to icq.

I've changed the port from 5190 to 21 and now it works fine!!!

Hi,

i can connect with the ICQ server login.icq and i havwe tried different ports numbrers, default 5190, 21 , etc

and there is different error messages
" Rate limit exceeded "
" Socket server closed "


Can somebody help me please?
