Is it possible to use the Flash browser plugin to open local .swf files (without having to use the browser)?

You can view .swf files in the browser but I do not believe there is a way to run them without the browser open at this time. but, you've got me interested, so I'll look into it

The adobe flash plugin will not run outside an convenient netscape-alike plugin framework.
I know that you can see flv files (flash video) using any recent mplayer version. I suppose that doesn't help too much, but just in case...

But it can't play a SWF, and never mind the source files (FLA); just tried it for an experiment
