nOOb -- compiling dvdx
k, i'd like to compile dvdx for use on a RHEL5 system. I've read some sticky posts, and browsed and search, but not finding what i need.
I have a functional understanding of how to type make and press enter. However, there is no makefile within the tar that i got off sourceforge. Sure, well it makes sense that there's no makefile, coz it needs to be tailored to my system -- so i should evoke ./configure. However, there is no configure script with the source either.
What am i not understanding?

Sounds odd; are there any other scripts included in there?

Thanks fingal,
Um, no, no scripts. There is a Readme_1st.txt, but it's more about features than enything else.
It's odd, there is a stdafx.h and cpp in there -- which makes me think it's windows-ish source -- but i have no idea if that really means much.
Should i just look for a tar that contains a configure script?
