Hi.
Did you compile pidgin from source? If so, you need to install gnutls-devel or openssl-devel (on some distros the packages end with a *dev instead of *devel) and then recompile pidgin. If you installed from a prebuilt package, install gnutls or openssl and see if that resolves the problem.
