trouble running blender?
HI. This is for people who no about running blender, the free 3D modeling program. I installed blender just like it said in the manual. But now blender wont run. it just gives me a weird error message in the command line when i try to run it. The las line of the error message says "core dumped". Does anyone know how I can't fix this problem and run blender?

Can you post the entire message?
Have you got 3D drivers installed? Run glxgears from a terminal and see what the output is, and post it back here.

You need to post the detailed error message in order for someone to determine the problem.

I saw a picture of hears running
mahela007@mahela007-desktop:~$ glxgears
1703 frames in 5.0 seconds = 340.416 FPS
1642 frames in 5.0 seconds = 328.265 FPS
1728 frames in 5.0 seconds = 345.431 FPS.
the error message i got earlier was
guessing 'blender-bin' == '/usr/bin/blender-bin'
Compiled with Python version 2.5.1.
Checking for installed Python... got it!
Segmentation fault (core dumped).
(the error that i got when i ran blender form the command line)
