Wine - COM Settings
I use a very simple windows application to update messages on a scrolling LED sign. I now want to use this application within linux using Wine.
A little background, this LED sign uses a Serial-to-USB adapter to connect to the machine, with the USB cable plugging directly into the sign.
My laptop (which i want to use this on) does not have a serial port so i purchased a USB-to-Serial adapter to make the connections.
The LED application only allows me to connect to the COM1-COM4 ports so i updated COM1 to connect to ttyUSB0 and a connection can be made. However when trying to download the message itself to the sign i receive an error message saying "response error".
A connection to the sign is clearly made, however its not downloading the information. Does anyone have any suggestions as why this could be happening?
