[SOLVED] How to install open office 3 from source in fedora?

I downloaded the source of openoffice 3 and was able to install all the packages in the directory RPMS. But the desktop-integration file is not working, and I am not able to open the new version from the existing shorcuts. Please tell how to make sure that OO3 becomes the default .

The package you have is actually not source, but binary rpms. Did you install the redhat-menus package that is in the desktop-integration subdirectory? That should create the OOo menus on Red Hat, Fedora and derivatives.

You first need to uninstall open0ffice 2.4 because its files seems to clash with those of openoffice 3.0.
