    I've installed Skype, seems to be working but
    when I try to call a contact, it ends the call immediately.

    Have you tried a test call to skype? If it's not on your contact screen it's in Options>>Sound Devices>>Make a test call.

    Looks like I got it... not sure why, but my
    onboard sound card, (Motherboard) was not working,
    not sure why, I had an old SoundBlaster Card from a
    couple computers ago, installed it and away we go...
