    Failed to initialize Hal!?!

I'm getting this message after starting my acer one:

    Internal error:
    Failed to initialize Hal

The internet connection doesn't work, neither does the usb ports.

    What should I do?

How will I be able to install files again if the usb ports and internet doesn't work!?

Keep in mind that I'm a complete noobie at linux, so please explain everything very detailed thanks! I know that you can type codes in the terminal, but that's about all I know!

    Thanks in advance!

You could try reinstalling acpi subsystem
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install acpi
