I am using Rhythmbox for a long time and it works pretty fine.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I was reading the description on it and it said inspired by apple's itunes and that it supports ipod integration, does that mean it will syn a ipod?

depends on the ipod.
rythmbox uses libgpod, which supports a number of ipod versions but not quite all.
you can check the libgpod site and see if your ipod is supported.
btw, i'm not using rythmbox, my player of choice is quod libet; it should be available for ubuntu.
cheers, kai

Amarok rocks and it can manage iPods(at least it can mine, 80GB classic...)
Songbird is also really cool. It is like iTunes but has the extension capabilities of Mozilla applications and it is a decent browser as well!!

Amarok is really good, I like it for the quick keys
just recently, I've been able to quick key from full screen programs and it makes it all the more sweeter.
(Oh and my ipod likes it too.)

We continue to use Xmms daily at our broadcast radio station. It's an older player that looks like WinAmp but gets the job done dependably with a minimal amount of "features."
