How to send shutdown from Samba
Hi Every one!
I have a controller domain with samba on my RHEL 5, and there are many windows on domain, I was told that is needed to schedule a shutdown for these windows machines on domain. I know this is possible, but don't know how
Could you help me, to perform this task?
Thanks in advance

Samba allows file sharing between Windows and *Nix machine via the SMB/CIFS protocols. It does not "manage" Windows machines like an NT4 or AD domain - it has no ability to enforce "machine policies" on the domain.
Your best bet would be to configure a logon script that gets run when the user logs on. The script would create a sheduled task on the Windows machine that says "shutdown at this time."
