    convert to mp3


    i used a prog called audio CD extractor and the songs are in .oga type ... do you have any idea about how to convert them into mp3 ???

    Hi and welcome to the forum.

    There is a script available on the web called ogg2mp3 that can help (check that its not in your distributions repositories first before downloading from the web).

    for some reason (unknown to me cause i'm a linux newbie) i find it difficult to download it ... any more ideas?

    Just a little point of fact here: it's generally not a good idea to transcode between lossy file formats. You're going to lose some sound quality along the way. I would recommend, if possible, that you re-rip the MP3s from their original source.

    well ,you're right but the prog [audio CD extractor] i use rips the cd's automatically and the songs are in .oga type ...there is no option about changing the type!
    do you know an other prog which i could use?
    because i want to copy the songs to my ipod but it isn't compatible with .oga files !
