Fedora likes YUM as its package tool. You can read up on using it here:

You can also, run the following command from a terminal for more info on using YUM:
It might be possible to use Synaptic with Fedora, but I've never tried it and I'm not familiar with setting it up to work that way. If it is possible, perhaps someone that knows about it will chime in with some help for you.Code:man yum

I would suggest you to install Yum Extender. Its Graphics Interface of yum and it make package installation very easy.
Look for Yum Extender in Menu.Code:su - yum -y install yumex
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
