Can I change the background colour in Open Office Writer?

My partner is typing away in Open Office Writer (yes I got her to switch from MS Word!) . She says the colour surounding the text box is too close to the white background of the active document and is hard on the eyes and would like it darker. Can I do this? I can change the background colour via System>Preferences>appearance >theme>customise>colors>windows/background. But this changes the background color for the whole desktop. Can I change it just within Open Office?

    Thanks
