Sorry to post two topics in a row but this is yet another problem i am expericening in running linux.

Despite setting ports 80, 800 TCP and 666 UDP as open on my router, when i run Xmule (set to use 800 TCP) i always get a message sayig that port 800 is not avaliable. I do not have the guarddog or any other firewall installed.

the following might be useful:

QUOTE

root@linux carl # iptables -L -n
Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

next:

root@linux carl # netstat -an | grep LISTEN

Is yoper blocking the ports or does the problem lie elsewhere? I dual boot with XP and use the same ports there without any problems whatsoever.
