Trying to install KISMET on slackware 13.0. Ran configure and it gave me the following:
configure: WARNING: linux/if_arp.h: present but cannot be compiled
configure: WARNING: linux/if_arp.h: check for missing prerequisite headers?
configure: WARNING: linux/if_arp.h: see the Autoconf documentation
configure: WARNING: linux/if_arp.h: section "Present But Cannot Be Compiled"
configure: WARNING: linux/if_arp.h: proceeding with the preprocessor's result
configure: WARNING: linux/if_arp.h: in the future, the compiler will take precedence
and
config.status: WARNING: 'Makefile.inc.in' seems to ignore the --datarootdir setting
Googled about and found someone saying that: source=ath9k,wmaster0,wifi needed to be changed to source=ath5k,wlan0,Atheros.
Am familiar with sourcing files and in csh but this is new to me. It looks suspiciously like the args to source are possibly system dependent (after further reading).
Much was made about libpcap but that is installed as libpcap.a.
Can someone give me an answer as to why arp.h is present but can't be compiled and what/which missing headers might be? Appreciate your time in reading this.
