slack 9.1 and Downloader for X
hello
I have the following problem :
i tried to install Downloader for X (d4x-2.5.0final) on a Slackware machine that is using glib 1.2.10
when i try to configure the source i get an error message:
checking for GLIB - version >= 2.4.0... no
*** Could not run GLIB test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means GLIB is incorrectly installed.
configure: error: *** GLIB >= 2.4.0 not installed! ***
i don't know how to update glib library. Best regards

get this:
ftp://ftp.ale.org/pub/mirrors/slackw...4.7-i486-1.tgz
then
and then try to run ./configure for Downloader for X. there's also apparently a .tgz file for Downloader for X, but it's impossible to find. there's at least a really outdated one (1.30) for slack 8.0, but try to compile it from source and see what happens.Code:$ su # installpkg glib2-2.4.7-i486-1.tgz
