    boot a live cd such as knoppix to check if it freezes also there.

    Also, you could check your hardware
    You must always face the curtain with a bow.

    Which Graphics Card do you have?
    Execute this in Terminal
    Code:
    sudo lspci | grep -i vga
    Post output here.

    Has it always done this, or did it start after a packages upgrade?
