Irratting differences
After installing Slackware 13.0 I began noticing little changes which are irritating because I can get around them but are not like they had been thru several releases.
1) I must now use the drop down copy command in Rirefox and cannot wipe over text and transport it over to another file.
2) Vim will not allow me to do this either. I have to append with write to move text sections. "less" lets me do this as I have in the past.
3) PDF files sometimes will not cut text.
Is this related and do I need to thrash about in the .vimrc and chrome to fix this or is it in one place?
Is anyone else noticing these things?

It's not incredibly clear cut what is causing this for you. I recognize some of your problems (Vim), have a vague notion of what might be going on on others (.pdf) and I have no idea what's with Firefox. It sounds like a graphics problem if you ask me, but that's the case it would be giving more problems in other areas as well. Can't tell an OS by it's GUI

Freston,
Tnx, I shouldv'e noted my Firefox is 3.6.8 so maybe I need to dive into .mozilla ... chrome and have a look.
Like I said maybe r problem is in .vimrc, which was simpler in 11.0
Yes, I was referring to use of engulfing text with the pointer and saving to text clipboard. Just doing that comes up different at times. I am suspecting it depends on which release it was created under. Hopefully
