Error Burning CD w/ Brasero

Hi there. I'm new here and new to Linux. And I'm also in desperate need of help. I'm trying to burn a CD with Brasero (didn't work on kb3 either). It's a data disk that holds 80 minutes. No problems abiding by those rules for me. But I saved the problem log that I repeatedly get. Can someone here make any sense of it and tell me what I need to do to fix my problem? I'd REALLY appreciate it!!

Welcome to Linux in general !
Using Brasero, I am assuming your distro is either Debian- or Ubuntu-based. So, welcome to apt-get !
This is one aspect of the command line nobody using distros based on the aforementioned Linux families should be afraid of -- as we say, the command apt-get is your friend (it will not let you down when such acquaintances as Brasero and k3b do). To eliminate problems or variables that may contirbute to your not being able to burn CDs or DVDs, first get rid of Brasero. Do this by, firstly, going to the now-dreaded terminal. [You do know how to use sudo, do you not?] Type in and enter the command

 sudo apt-get remove brasero 
  

then, to make sure you have wodim installed, type in

 sudo apt-get -f install wodim 
  

-- at which it will either be installed (and you will have to answer with a capital Y at the prompt to install) or a message saying something like "wodim is already in its latest version" will assure you you already have it installed. With wodim in your system, type (to see if your optical rw drive is recognized)

 wodim --devices 
  

If functioning, the device will be recognized and wodim will return a line saying

or something similar. If so, you are in roses. If not, your burner is toast and/or not recognized by your system -- replace it.

To burn, I use the command

 wodim -sao dev='/dev/scd0' speed=6 /path/to/iso/xxxxxx.iso 
  

at which your iso sould be burnt to your medium.

It looks like you are trying to burn mp3 audio files to a cd. You wouldn't use the data cd choice with brasero, but you will also need an mp3 support plugin to use brasero for those types of files, using the Audio Project selection.

It won't usually work out of the box for mp3s because in many countries, developers or manufacturers must pay patent royalties to use an MP3 player or MP3 Encoder. There are conflicts between patent licenses and the licenses of application source code, so mp3 support is not provided out of box. This has been done for legal reasons to avoid getting sued for breaking patent laws.

One could buy nero for linux, then purchase the mp3 module, if still available (it used to be).
