Help installing LaTex packages
I am trying to install a package called "mhchem" to use in texmaker on ubuntu but having trouble. I downloaded the .sty file but cannot seem to do anything with it. I also tries using terminal to download and install by typing:
sudo latex mhchem.sty
I get an error messsage advising "i cannot find file 'mhchem.sty'
Does anyone know what I can do to resolve this? I am using LaTeX for writing my PhD thesis and was originally using Texnic Centre on Windows on which mhchem worked fine.
Thanks for your assistance.

Latex won't download the file, which is what I suspect you are trying to do. Where is it located?
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
