Grep Intelligent IRC Client
What is the best expert IRC client (X or console). I want one that can intelligently identify users not by their nick but by their address. So when someone logs out, changes their nick then logs back in, the application can easily identify who that person is. Maybe on a private local profile based system based on addresses than nicks.
If such IRC client doesn't exist, then how about a client that allows grep-like commands to search for users matching a particular address?

Not sure, but irrsi is pretty customizable. It probably has that ability as well, or at least the ability to make a script that does it.

Proof it. Give me an example of the identifying users by IP address, etc.

If you want a script to do this I suggest you grep the net for one already written, ask someone nicely if they would write one for you, or *gasp* learn some perl and do it yourself. Demanding things of anyone on these forums in such a disrespectful way will not be tolerated. Consider this your first and final warning.
