How To Scan An NTFS Formatted External Hard Drive On Linux
is there a program to search for errors on an ntfs harddrive on linux. there are some files that i can't delete on it (it says theres an input/output error). i read that i could delete them on windows but i don't have and can't get windows, so is there a wat to scan on linux.

If you are using the ntfs-3g driver and have the ntfsprogs package installed, then you have the fsck.ntfs utility installed (run with fsck usually) and it can scan for and fix ntfs file system problems, other than for encrypted volumes and/or directories. Not sure about compressed volumes and directories, however.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
