Angry mplayer and others playing really fast.

I have noticed that mplayer, banshee, and pandora will play my movies and music really fast. It plays everything at like 4x. The only thing that does not is VLC. Even XBMC plays fast. I am using Mint. Any thoughts>?

I can be found either 40 miles west of Chicago, in Chicago, or in a galaxy far, far away.
    A number of questions.

    1. What distribution+version of Linux are you running?
    2. What is the audio framework you are using - ALSA, PulseAudio, or what? and what version?
    3. What is your audio hardware? Post the output of lspci here, unless your audio is USB, in which case post the output of lsusb.

Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
