    virtualbox on ubuntu server


    i have a 10.04 ubuntu and i installed virtual box 3.1.6_OSE on it, when i run VBoxHeadless --help, there is no vrde option, it has below options:

    --startvm
    --capture
    --width
    --height
    --bitrate
    --filename

    did i installed a wrong version for server or there is something missed?

    I think vrde is only available in version 4 of Virtualbox.

    then, how could i run a guest ( which is ubuntu 12.04 ) on my ubuntu server?

    Assuming that you installed it from the repository you have a good use case for uninstalling it and installing a more recent version from the Virtual Box Website
