    hot -Backup server solution

I want to setup a automatic failover server . We have installed RHEL 6.2 and running a ATM Sitching application , which is going to comnnect to multiple banks for ATM,POs,Deposit etc transactions .i am looking at deploying a backup server in a remote site , which is 20Km away . i want this server to switch over if the Main site fails .

Since it is a mission critical applicaton up to last minute data is required at both the sites .

Both the sites will be connected thru VSAT or Fiber cable .

Pls help me with a application which can do this .

From the sound of it, this is for sure not a question of a single application.
One would need a solid und thorough understanding of the datacenter networks, available hardware, the application, its underlying database(s), involved SLAs, monitoring metrics and last but not least business parameters.

Imho, your request exceeds what a forum can offer and is more a task for a dedicated group and/or consultants on-premise.
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
