    Server for BBC iPlayer

I'm looking to use an old P4 machine to leave on 24/7 in the UK so that I can acesss the BBC iPlayer whilst I'm working abroad.
I need to use a relatively small distro and an application with a GUI, as I'm very poor at the command line.

The aim is that when I'm abroad, I set my Firefox browser in Ubuntu to use the server back in the UK a a proxy.

Any suggestions on distros and applications?

    Many thanks

Any of the top small distros will do the job. You need ssh to allow access and squid to do the proxying. Use key based login with ssh and carry a copy of the keys with your laptop. When you log in, forward the proxy port to your local machine and tell your local copy of firefox to use that proxy port.
