Unetbootin missing operating system??
Every time I do this, it never works. Really annoying and just keeps me using CD/DVDS. At least they work!
And I can't use a CD for this one because it's 800 mb Crunchbang

You get the message on boot or when you're trying to install it?

I tried unetbootin but it couldn't find any of my flash drives. I ended up using Universal-USB-Installer-1.9.1.7.exe and did it from XP. Bummer, but I didn't want to compile/install Qt4 libs.
BTW Precise Puppy Linux is quite nice for a stripped down system. These cheap thumb drives are a great way to test out distros.

I have found that some older flash usb drives cannot properly boot, so installing unetbootin on those is futile. I've had fewer problems with newer devices, including SD cards in USB carriers.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

I got linux booting off a 4 year old 2G I won from Safeway with one of their scratch&lose tickets they give out sometimes. Works perfect.
