Red face IEEE 1394 + G4 and Sony DV cam - 'Speaker's corner booth'

    Hi All.

I posted a while back, looking for tips on how to make a speakers corner booth, where people could record small segments of them talking.

The idea would be to have a small LCD, the camera, and a G4 (because of the IEEE port and because I have it kicking around) in a box, and a few small buttons for the user to trigger recording or stopping etc etc.

Last time I posted, I was suggested ffmpeg and xset.

I'm about to pick up the project again now, and would appreciated any suggestions.

    especially as I"m a n00b

Have you tried the original suggestion? Using ffmpeg streaming + ?
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
