    Problem with gdisk and fdisk

    Hello,

I'm trying to install Archlinux but I've got two problems. I want to create a new partition on /dev/sdb. Problem is that
    (1)
    Code:
    fdisk /dev/sdb
    n
    Partition number: 2
gives me "No free sectors available" despite gdisk p showing me 20GB free space.

    (2)
I had a Windows install on that disk before creating a new partition with gdisk. Now I cant boot windows. I did'nt touch any windows partitions, but I suspect that the change from MBR: present (only)
    to
    MBR: protective
    GPI: present
    is the cause.

    Can someone please help me?
    Thanks

Post the output of fdisk -l command so that we can see your drive/partition specifics.
