How can I go to TextMode Screen from GUI ?
I am using RedHat 9.
Earlier there was ALT_CTRL_F1 F2, etc to alter between.
Now I could not find that ...

How can I go to TextMode Screen from GUI ?
I am using RedHat 9.

Ctrl+Alt+F1 when I was using RH9. Maybe there is an issue in how your keyboard is setup. Got a spare you can try out to see?

and exit the console with :Code:alt+ctrl+f1 or alt+ctrl+f2 .....
it works in redhat.....Code:alt+ctrl+f7

In RH9 if you want a text mode with the graphical server being closed then just type 'init 3'

i agree but then he has to enter startx to start xserver...i don't think that this is what he wants...

Could be. But a lot of requests like this need the gui killed to install the nvidia drivers.

I got it....
KI got it, basically xine was not only crashing my X, it was crashing my system as a whole. So nothing was happening when I pressed CTRL_ALT_F1.
