also, If you take a close look at your processes, you'll notice that EACH time you launch a IE, it take a little less than FF BUT, the interesting point in here, is take a good look if you open 10tabs in FF and open 10 IE... you'll see where the true power comes from..

Not to mention the incredible number of security holes in IE, and the themes/extensions/tabs/cross-platform-ness of Firefox ---> Those make it overwhelmingly better than in every case except ActiveX only sites, and you should stay away from them anyways due to the inherent security flaws in ActiveX.

Guys i'd like to point out that i hust wanted to know why IE could launch faster in linux and firefox to 6 seconds, it can't be that it is integreted into SUSE ha ha.
Btw the only thing IE cannot do is tabbed browsing.
You can disable all IE active x which closes one loop hole.
You can also stop pop ups by having an aggressive cookie policy that allows only sites you want.
IE can be configured to not use so much memory like firefox in the settings.
But these settings should have been on by default and microsoft didn't do that; thats why m$ sucks
I'd like to know whether you can launch firefox faster by preloading it in the boot process. Would it work for all the apps if a i preloaded some of them cause the start up speed of applications in linux.

Hey, if firefox is too slow for you, then stay with IE because nobody is going to stop you from it! As far as I am concerned, firefox is everything that IE is not...

- 01-04-2005 #18I second that. This entire thread seems more like an attempt to say "I told you so" than anything else. If you want to run Internet Exploiter, be our guest. There's nothing stopping you. The rest of us are sticking with Firefox.

This thread is locked as it (even on a Linux forum) is an unavoidable flamewar as well as unnecessary.
