    Suggestions for asset management utility

    Hey there,

Just wondering if anyone had some suggestions about a good open source asset management solution. I need something for about a year until another one is put in and there are ones like SpiceWorks but I'm wondering if anyone else had some experience with a different utility.

Basically all I need is something like Nmap but with a bit more intelligence...

I could use Nmap I guess, but I would have to change things consistently about the ranges it's scanning because of servers with multiple NICs, etc. and I'm wondering if there is a utility out there that might make things a bit easier and a bit more 'scheduled'.

    Thanks.

At work we use OCS Inventory NG | Home it gets you a hardware inventory by installing a client (very small) and also by scanning the network. Maybe it will fill your needs.
