Microsoft networking on LINUX....HELP....
Hello I just installed "MANDRAKE LINUX" on my computer. I was all happy I finally got "LINUX" but then I realized my internet. I have a Microsoft wireless base station for my downstairs computer and it run win xp so thats fine there. But I have "LINUX" running on my good upstairs computer and a wireless mn-510 networking card for that computer. But the problem is that I cant get internet for that computer because it is a "MICROSOFT" network and I am running "LINUX" please tell me what I can do to either get it working on "LINUX" or any other suggestions you may have._/.::.\/THANKS\/.::.\_.

As long as TCP/IP is used, that's step one. The other is getting the drivers for the wireless technology. As I've never dealt with wireless networking, I don' t know how the hardware works. Again, if you have the drivers for Linux, then it shouldn't be a problem.
If you want the computers to talk, you can share files and printer with Samba.The best things in life are free.

Huh?! Microsoft doesn't make wireless network hardware, right? What is your setup, exactly?

That is no problem....that you other computers are Mircosoft...there are also build aon TCP/IP and ethernet...

it does not matter whether your other computer is Microsoft based...they can still communicate and you can share files and printers through samba...can you reach the internet from your linux box? have you setup
your network connection on it?
