A good video player for Redhat Linux 9.0 (2.4.20-8)
Can anyone provide me with a http or Ftp site for downloading good softwares that can play video files in linux. I have Xmovie but it only plays mpg and avi. Other formats such as .mov and .wmv and others cannot be played.
Also please provide me the steps for installing real player in Redhat Linux 9.0 (2.4.20-
Also tell me what is essential for upgrading my linux kernel to 2.6 ?

kaffeine is fine and it uses the xine-engine..a good site to search for redhat rpms is http://rpm.pbone.net

Why not just use MPlayer? it supports just about any format you can think of (including realmedia), and it works just about anywhere, even without X. It also has some very nice postprocessing options, especially the high quality video denoiser.
I strongly reccomend upgrading to Fedora Core 3, which has kernel 2.6.9, which is pretty recent seeing as the latest version is 2.6.10.Emotions are the key to the soul.
