I have SuSE Linux 9.2 installed w/o problems on a 2.6MHz PC with recent hardware.
The firewire host adapter is built in on the motherboard and detected correctly at boot time (see output of hwinfo attached).
When attaching ieee1394 devices (digital video camera, DVD burner), the system does not detect anything. No reaction in any logfiles at all, not even error messages. Loading appropriate kernel modules manually (raw1394, dv1394, video1394) does not help: applications like dvgrab or MainActor recognize the driver but complain that there isn't any hardware behind. Both devices are working under Windows

Can anybody help?

Thanks in advance, cheers,
Axel
