    python-mysqldb or pythonconnector - smooth connection to DB-which one

    q: How do I connect to a MySQL database using a python program?

    with the python-mysqldb or with the new ... Python connector

    well - on opensuse 13.1 it is the question of choice:

    we must install a MySQL driver before doing anything. Unlike PHP, only the SQLite driver is installed by default with Python. The most used package to do so is MySQLdb but it's hard to install it using easy_install.

    For Linux, this is a casual package (python-mysqldb).

    Oracle (MySQL) now supports a pure Python connector.
    That means no binaries to install: it's just a Python library. It's called "Connector/Python".

    MySQL :: Download Connector/Python

    what do you suggest ?

    love to hear from you

    I don't know about which is easier. I normally go with community developed works. My vote goes for python-mysqldb
