    Question Reading package lists... takes so long

    Hi everyone,

    Every time I run apt-get command, it stucks at "Reading package lists...". Is anyone here getting the same issue?

    More specifically: which distro are you running and do you know how to edit your sources.list file(s) or where it/they is/are?
    Which commands are you speaking of, exactly?

    Is anyone here getting the same issue?
    No. You might want to post the readout of

    cat /etc/apt/sources.list
    Then Install linuxinfo.

    sudo apt-get install linuxinfo
    Then post the output

    to answer some of zeanwalkers questions. It will only help you if you are more detailed on supplying info in a thread.
