Server Software - Just moved To linux
Hi guys,
A day ago faith twisted my hand a bit and I installed Linux on my webserver subsequent to the crash of my Win2000 server. Anyway, as the newcomer to the Linux Server world, how about some hints and help For now I just have few questions about some of the server software I need and have no idea what's good and what's not. I am running Slackware 10.
- Good FTP server. Just something good...
- Good IRC server.
- ShoutCast Client (not the server). I need it to be command line, something that can rip a station in to a mp3 file.
- Any P2P Clients that have Web Interface. I used to have Shareaza, it has Web Interface that lets you control it from a website what it hosts on a port on the same computer. I do not care about GUI interface, I would prefer commandline demon that could be interfaced via some kind of web interface.
Thanks for any help,
- Bogdan

Thank you. I installed vsFTPd before realizing that Slackware has ProFTPd. Anyway I am running vsFTPd for now, works grate. Thanks for help. I actually got some help with all the programs, so the only one that I am still looking for is a P2P sharing program with ether commandline or Web Interface. I am really looking for the web interface just like on Shareaza. If you ever used something like that please let me know. Or perhaps there is a PHP or CGI frontend for some of the command line p2p clients out there?
