i have given up trying to install my echo gina card so would someone please tell me what I need to do to install a

sound card as simple as possible.

I haven't been able to determine if this card is supported by OSS, but I know for sure that it is supported by ALSA with the cmi8738 driver. Unfortunately, I haven't used ALSA extensively, so I don't know how to set it up.
