What game is this and where can I get it? I'd like to get back into gaming since I've been away from it for so long.

But how can it be that a thing such as this is free for the taking? How do they make money on it?

there have been other games that came out under the same premise ie - america's army.
It is great advertising for RTCW - so when they release a new game, maybe people will be inclined to buy it. Also, because they made a version for the linux platform, it might appeal to some of the linux users like me
I really like RTCW and have nothing bad at all to say about, I don't really buy games, but if they came out with one for linux, I probably would buy it if it was reasonably priced.

hmmm, close call, I would think so, but not sure of the fps on that
but the good news is that it is not that big of a download and it installs pretty fast - definitely worth a shot!
