    Hi,

    Is there an index based file search utility availble for linux.

    What is the fastest file search utility available for linux

    To my knowledge "whereis" is probably the quikest... (terminal command)

    Does that command(whereis) uses file indexing. If it does do I have to update the index regularly. Can I search inside sub folders with that command.
